US, French libraries swap digital film, TV content
The Library of Congress and France’s national audio-visual archive announced plans Wednesday to exchange up to 500 hours of digitized film and TV shows that reflect how the United States and France have portrayed each other in media.
The agreement between the world’s largest library in Washington and the French Institut National de l’ Audiovisuel will lead to an exchange over the next three years. Titles in the public domain will be made available online for global access through the World Digital Library, officials said. The full slate of programs will be available for research in Paris and Washington.
The World Digital Library is neat, but the aforementioned material doesn’t seem to be uploaded yet.
